It's Friday!!!!
Today, instead of writing about the lows of my life, I'll talk about the highs. God is not only with me in my valley, but he is with me when I'm on the mountain top as well.
I have so much to be thankful for. I need to incorporate this into my blog. I need to have a "thankful" day; a day in which I only focus on the goodness of the Lord: blessings, grace, mercy, faithfulness, forgiveness, longsuffering....
So, today, I dub Friday, "Thankful Friday". What do I have to be thankful for?
1. Prayer. There is so much power in prayer. Prayer is the way that we communicate with God. God says that we have not because we ask not. If you notice in the new testament, Jesus FREQUENTLY left the disciples to be alone and pray. God is our strength. We must pray to remain connected to Him. Prayer unleashes blessings, answers, power, and wisdom. When I pray, it allows me to cast my burdens, desires, and issues on him. I can do that because I know that he can handle it. God's yoke is easy and his burden is light. He told us to cast our cares on him. After I pray, there is a peace in me because I know that my God is in control. I know that my God will fight my battles. I know that when I stand still, I will see the salvation of the Lord.
Exodus 14:13-14, Matthew 11:30, Luke 6:12, 1 Peter 5:7
2. Friends. Just this morning, I was talking about how I feel that my world has been turned upside down. I've lost some relationships that were very important to me. I look around and don't know what the heck is going on. But God is sovereign. He is in control. And I realize that the FEW people that I have in my circle are TRULY there because God placed them there. They add no sorrow. We pray together. We laugh together. We cry together. We encourage one another. Because I'm so used to having a large group around me, having only two confidantes feels unnatural. But truth be told, I wouldn't have it any other way.
Proverbs 17:17, Proverbs 27:9, Philippians 4:19
3. Grace. I thank God for his grace because it has allowed me to reach this point. If you were to take a gander at my writings from two-three years ago, you would find a different woman. I used to curse, party, and drink. I depended on other people instead of going to God. God saw through ALL of my mess, allowing me time to get to where I am in him. For that, I am truly thankful.
Philippians 1:6
Today, what are you thankful for?

For rest...I don't have to fill my days with endless movement and busyness. I can be still and know that He is God...
If there is anyone who has God embedded in their heart, it's you. I am convinced. Loved the segment concerning Prayer - I agree, it's one of the most personal moments that a person can enjoy with God.
If you notice in the new testament, Jesus FREQUENTLY left the disciples to be alone and pray.
Indeed. The night before Calvary I recall reading how he insisted on speaking with his Father, in the a very private and intimate manner.
Can I borrow your blog layout? It's nice.
